What an incredible day we had at the Connect • Learn • Lead 2026 Conference!

On behalf of the SGNN Board, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and made this our most impactful gathering yet.
A very special thank you goes to Frank Richards and the entire team at Second Harvest of South Georgia for being such exceptional hosts.

It was an honor to have our region’s nonprofit leaders under their roof.
Hosting our conference at their Valdosta headquarters offered a firsthand look at an organization that truly embodies the spirit of “thriving and transforming.”
A Mission of Impact
Second Harvest is the largest rural food bank in the state, serving a massive 12,000-square-mile region across 26 counties.

Their mission is clear and vital: to provide food to those experiencing hunger in South Georgia.
They don’t just talk about impact—they deliver it, distributing over 1 million pounds of food every single month.
Values in Action
During our afternoon tour, we saw their core values in motion:
Community Collaboration: Their “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” philosophy is exactly why SGNN exists—to bring people, churches, and nonprofits together to solve big problems.
Efficiency: We were stunned to learn that for every $1 they receive, they can distribute enough food for 9 meals.
Accessibility: Through programs like Kids Cafe, the Mobile Food Pantry, and Teachers’ Harvest, they ensure that help reaches every corner of our community, from students to seniors.

We are proud to partner with an organization that has shown such a sustained, 30-year commitment to ending hunger in our region.
If you were inspired by what you saw during the tour, I encourage you to visit feedingsga.org to learn how you can volunteer or support their mission.

Thank you again to Second Harvest, our fellow sponsors, and to all of you for the work you do every day to care for South Georgia.
